Biography (Updated December, 2009)
Joshua Rinier currently serves as OperaLancaster’s business manager in Lancaster, PA. He has worked for OperaLancaster since 2007 as performer and more recently and entrepreneur in order to help push the organization forward and to its full potential.
Mr. Rinier will graduate in May 2010 with a B.A. in Music Business & Technologies from Millersville University, in Millersville, PA. While at the university Mr. Rinier had the privilege to be trained by some of the industry’s leading figures such as Dr. Jennifer Jester and Rusty Banks. Mr. Rinier has studied theory under Dr. Micheal Houlahan and has studied voice (tenor) with Dr. Debra Lenssen. During his attendance at Millersville he has been selected out of his peers to perform in two honor recitals.
Last Spring (2009) Mr. Rinier served as an intern for the School District of Lancaster’s high school music program. During the internship he facilitated all public relations, advertising, and departmental promotions, he helped develop educational materials for the musical, developed their website, ran live sound and recorded department events.
As a performer Mr. Rinier performs at various community churches as a soloist, has performed with the Lancaster Symphony Chorus, OperaLancaster Chorus, J.P. McCaskey Chamber Choir & Vocal Ensemble, and Millersville University Chorale. Mr. Rinier has also enjoyed several on-stage roles including Kaspar in OperaLancaster’s 2007 production of Amahl & The Night Visitors and as Edward Fairfax Rochester in J.P. McCaskey High School’s production of Jane Eyre: A Musical Drama.
